To achieve optimal results, it’s essential to maintain a 6 to 8-week interval between sessions. This frequency is necessary because the laser beam specifically targets hairs in their active growth phase.
The 4 Phases of Hair Growth Cycle
Anagen (growth) : This is the only phase during which laser treatment is effective.
Catagen (transition) : During this stage, the hair starts to detach from its follicle.
Telogen (rest) : The hair stops growing, but stays in place.
Exogenous (fall) : The hair ends up falling out to make way for a new hair.
Since new hairs can enter the anagen phase over time, permanent hair removal cannot absolutely prevent all future hair growth. That’s why light maintenance—typically 1 to 2 sessions per year—is recommended.
